Micrometals MS material is an improved Sendust type material. Compared to traditional powder cores, these cores are characterized by lower losses while offering much better energy storage capabilities. Super-MSS cores are an excellent solution for filtering and energy storage inductors in switching power supplies. The low losses of Super-MSS cores minimize temperature rise, thus enabling operation at much higher frequencies (25 kHz - 500 kHz) than similarly sized powder cores. Also, the IDC characteristics are much better than the characteristics of powder cores of similar permeability and size.
